Medicare does not cover care in Thailand. Look at international expat plans rather than domestic US policies.
Private hospitals
Bumrungrad, Samitivej, BNH and Bangkok Hospital are internationally accredited with English-speaking staff and are a common choice for expats.
Insurance
Choose international health insurance that covers inpatient care in Thailand and medical evacuation. Some visas require minimum cover.
Pharmacies
Pharmacies are everywhere and many medicines are available over the counter. Bring a doctor's letter for ongoing prescriptions.
